Governor Moore Declares State of Emergency to Help Fund Food Distribution
                On Thursday, October 30, 2025, Governor Wes Moore declared a State of Emergency and announced actions to support Marylanders impacted by the federal government shutdown and suspension of November Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. A State of Emergency is a declaration providing resources during times of crisis. Governor Moore will immediately use his emergency authority to surge $10 million to food banks and food bank partners in the state.
